I've never been able to do that. I always file away a "first impression", then research it, contemplate it, reject the idea...then if it won't leave me alone, come back to it, find the best possible price (probably wasting lots of time and energy) and then usually I reject the idea again. Deep down, the persistent "do I really need this?" prevents me from acting. Then a week or two later something will reject the logic of "no" and I'll bite.
One of these days I'm going to "White Dog" it. Seems a lot easier. : )

Ha. I'm typically more like you with my purchases but with the CB1100, I pulled the trigger really quickly (White Dog style) once it was under consideration. The great thing about the rather impulsive buy, is that I have no regrets.
I appreciate all the responses received on this thread guys. It's been really interesting learning how everybody came to ride the CB. I know for many, their stories had been relayed in the past at some point, but given I'm a newbie here, it was awesome to read.
