I bought the CB1100 EX because I like its retro looks. Apparently so do a lot of other people, because I get compliments about it every where I stop for food or gas.
I don't understand the need for more horsepower as my CB spends most of the day loafing at 3000 RPM while breezing along at 20 KPH over the speed limit. Quickly passing a couple of cars or big truck only required a click of the gear shift and flick of the wrist. Yesterday because I deliberately avoided the slabs for twisty and quieter roads, I never engaged sixth gear.
Personally I would like a 750cc bike with similar retro looks, 20 less horsepower, and 100 pounds less weight. Oh, and a taller and softer seat for those 600 kilometer (350 mile) day rides.
