I agree that the CB1100 is a good all around bike. It takes me back to when that was the sort of thing that all the motorcycle manufacturers wanted to make. You could pick your new UJM in whatever displacement you fancied, if you wanted to tour you bought a windjammer fairing and some hard bags. You could dress it up like a cafe racer. You could leave it stock, use it as a commuter. I miss those days. The whole 70's through early 80's was, in my opinion, the golden age of motorcycles. Then everything started getting wrapped in plastic and overspecialized. I know, brakes, tires and suspension have all gotten better and that does make bikes safer today. I'm glad that Honda chose to make this bike. I think they got it right. Honda captured the feel and spirit of their best days while throwing in much better brakes and a good fuel injection system. 40 plus years on two wheels and a lot of bikes under me, and I am convinced this is my best bike purchase to date.
