Preaching to the choir...
#2
Of course there are special touring bikes, sport tourers and so on. To me the CB is all in one. Proofed on 2 longer trips. Just mounted a windshield, crashbars, highway pegs , saddlebags and some more bags, the CB is a good tourer. Strong enough, relieable, a strong frame, the tour can start. A shaft drive would be nice, but it's the way it is, an oiled way. I'm a member in the choir of CB owners who ride tours with this motorbike, also longer ones. Some other more specialist bikes may offer a better comfort, but they don't look nearly as good as the beautiful CB. Too much plastic, a hidden, mostly watercooled unpersonal engine, which don't trigger the heart through the eyes. On tour I for my part will enjoy to endlessly look at a bike as much as I enjoy to ride with it. This is part of the game and set some eneregy free in me. Some very positive. At least every bike can be everything in its own way. It depends on what you make out them and what you expect. The Honda doesn't need much adjustments to be a fine tour commuter.
