Hey, VLJ, I am just south of Chico and could meet you in, say, Oroville or someplace. Mine is a '13 with Yosh exhaust, lowered pegs and fatter seat than stock for extra legroom. I have new slightly bigger than stock PR3's on the stock 18" rims so it might handle a little different, and have installed a 19 tooth front, and 37 rear sprocket, which makes it a bit tall in 1st but similar overall, I think, to the 6 speed.
So I don't know how close it would be to a stock 17, but if you would be interested in taking it for a spin for a rough compare we could get together.
