I'd just like to point out that Novice Rider's "Horrible on the freeway" and Guth's "...the fact that the CB1100 doesn't do that well [on the freeway]" are opinions and neither is shared by yours truly who rides a lot of highway miles on his naked CB1100.
Other that that, though, I enjoyed the report and the comments which followed.
