How do you like your DR650?
The DR was my very first bike after I got my license, and I'm on my third one. Replace the seat with a Sargent World Sport, and it's perfect. Not a great interstate speed commuter with my size and lack of wind protection (it will do it, but mpg really suffers) but for ripping around town, exploring the woods, or for areas with bad roads, it's really plush, and I just love the motor. Simple, torquey, and built like a tank. A true dual purpose motorcycle. I would look into one for sure!
Thanks...the KLR650 weighs about 50lbs more; almost better with winds on the hiways, but you can feel the heft off road. The DR would be better in that regard. I have used the KLR for long distance trips from 3-4 weeks that covered all sorts of terrain and road types. It does very well....I'm wondering what my reaction would be if I did the same on the DR650.
