I'm not trying to discount that at all. It's almost exactly how I felt about my CB1100 after I changed over to the Staintune. The bike does indeed physically feel different to me. A search would reveal that a lot of guys feel the same way. All I'm saying is that it's likely that some percentage of what you feel is a placebo effect (or whatever you want to call it) — there are both actual differences and perceived differences at play here. In my case, the exhaust did make some measurable differences and Staintune can prove it. But that's nothing compared to the difference that I actually feel in terms of the overall experience.
It's kind of like listening to someone playing a Fender Strat though a cheap solid state amplifier vs a vintage tube amp. Even though it's the same player and the same guitar, listening to the S.S. amp sounds good and makes me happy. Listening to the vintage tube amp raises goose bumps on my arms and actually causes my legs to weaken at times. Aural impacts can absolutely cause heighten physical reactions. (I spent 11 years of my life in Austin specifically because of the music scene there at the time.
