My two cents (and it's not worth that): If K&N filters were so effective, every vehicle would come with one from the manufacturer. Manufacturers expend a lot of time and money trying to achieve maximum engine performance, with the advertising claims and bragging rights that follow. Why aren't they using them?

I have a K&N filter on my HD and the other bikes will get them as soon as they need new ones. Not for any performance gains (if any) but because they are reusable.

Unless someone can show evidence that they are harmful or OEM filters become cheaper, I'll keep using them.
