Great story, Gone. You'll have to write a book about motorcycle riding one day, and this entry here can be one of your chapters. Maybe call the book "LA Motorcycle Confidential" or "My Own Private Motorcycle Diaries"..."Blood Hawk of Orange County" has a ring to it.

But I totally get it...I have my own nemesis hill in the Mt. Hood forest, but it' a dirt drop into a ravine with a rise on the other side. When you first start the descent, you can't see the line to take until you're committed. Good riders don't have issues with it, but me? ... I've probably done the drop near 20 times, but the third or fourth time I went over the bars head first and that has set the tone for all the subsequent attempts. I mean, I know I can ride it, and I mostly do it right...but every time a start down I give the moment my utmost respect and concentration...and then just "let go".
