Best explanation I can think of lol.

I’ve driven and ridden in L.A. my whole life and have driven in most of the major cities in the U.S., but the only time I was truly terrified was driving in NYC.

I know that prob sounds pretty "city slicker Pompous" but like you said if you've spent some time here.. you get it lol.

My beef with NYC is not driving in it, but finding street parking. It is fiction.

In terms of fear:

Once in Cleveland, Ohio.

Crossed the tracks once and within seconds the community zeroed in my vehicle and started chasing it, making yelling and screaming sounds. I got back to the other side of the tracks quickly. It was weird.

The other worry is hoping the bike is still there when you get back. Brazen crime Is getting pretty bad here.

I really like NYC. Nice place to visit. Considered living in Manhattan once (hard to believe looking back).

A few times I have seen mid-town pedestrians struck by cars. Mostly teenage kids on skateboards. They roll over the windshield/hood and pick up their junk, flip the bird and move on. Can't imagine how the drivers felt.
