The powers that be have decided that regular-grade puregas (87 octane nonethanol) not be taxed in the same way other pumpgas is taxed. So, if you pull up with your bike for a fill-up, your only choice is premium-grade puregas, which is taxed.
The intent, I think, is to have a puregas option for lawnmowers etc. that is not taxed, which is a good thing?
The other option is to fill a gas can with regular puregas and then use the can to fill whatever you choose. The attendant told me that he's seen guys show up with 50-gallon drums to buy regular puregas "for their lawnmower," wink wink.
