Yeah, it's about 2' deep, the rain inflicts its will. It would be a very unpleasant surprise if one failed to notice the marker, which would be easy to do if there were more snow. Last time I was through was September and I don't recall it being there. Likely someone will fill it and pack it down for the upcoming summer. Not a lot of maintenance out there, with numerous healthy ruts and dips that fill with water and you have to "walk gingerly" or not care about your vehicle...side by sides, atv and motorcycles do well.
It's much nicer June-early November when there's not much rainfall, the trails dry out and the temps even in our hottest months are very reasonable because it's at elevation and forest covered. La Dee Flats is my closest OHV (off-hiway vehicle designated area) about 25 miles distant.
