I agree with the yellow lights being ideal for conspicuity, they really stand out.

I can't see in your image but does your NC have a front fender extender? I put one on almost every bike I've owned to keep some of the road grit off the front of the engine. Especially some of the newer bikes with the trendy minimalist fenders.
