What did you do on or to your other bike part 2

Yes, Angry Bird will most likely probably be sold in the spring. I intend to ride it thru the winter. It's been a great bike. As of yesterday, 66,042 miles.

Here's the long story: My original plan was to ride Angry Bird for another year or so, at which point it would have about 80,000 miles on it, and then trade it in on a left over '25 750X DCT or a '26 if they still made them, and I was still capable of riding. (next May I will be 76 years old and have already ridden well past what I thought I would be able to ride). So anyhow, a buddy of mine calls me up and asks if I want to buy another bike. Another friend of his was retiring from riding (he was 73 years old) and had a 2023 NC 750X that he had barely ridden and had put a ton of aftermarket stuff on and was willing to sell it to my buddy at a ridiculously low price, but as MY friend had just bought a 21 NC 750X Manual shift and a 2022 Goldwing DCT he was not interested. My friend said if I was interested, he would ask his buddy to sell it to me for the same price. I had him on speaker phone and was sitting close to my wife, who said "you should buy it" (a couple of times) and I finally acquiesced and said Ok, I'd take it. He called his buddy who said ok. I called his buddy, and we talked for a bit (really nice guy) and firmed up the details. I called my nephew with a CRV and a trailer, and together we drove to Wisconsin on Tuesday, got a room for the night, and picked it up Wednesday morning and drove home. Did all the title work and picked up plates for it here in Ohio yesterday, insuring it today. It all went down so quickly.

Anyhow, it's a 2023 with 1,290 miles on it, and I'll tell you right off its absolutely spotless and way too fancy for me. It has Honda heated grips, Veridian electronic cruise control, Garmin Tire Pressure Monitoring System that's linked to a Garmin GPS, Honda Light bar, Denali D2 lights, Honda centerstand (an acc on NC's), RG frame sliders, MRA tinted windshield with wing, Honda USB port in frunk, Lithium battery, Noco cable for battery charger/jumping, Thunderbox acc power box, Denali license plate brake light, Pyramid hugger rear fender, Wilbers front fork springs and Wilbers rear externally adjustable rear shock set up for 206 pounds of rider and gear (about 10# more than I weigh). He also gave me a factory shop manual, and he had bought a Honda extended warranty thru Jan 2027 (transferable to me). He even gave me a new set of Honda oil filters for the bike (it takes 2 one for the engine and one for the DCT trans). He had just changed the oil filters and oil with full synthetic oil 600 miles ago. His mechanical work appeared flawless with meticulous running of all wiring. If he didn't like the bolts that came with an acc he bought new better bolts. He gave me all the boxes, mounting instructions, receipts and paperwork associated with all the accessories and all the stock take-off stuff (fork springs, shock, windshield, grips, chain guard etc)

Like I said way too fancy and clean for me. I'm a basic kinda guy, the taller windshield, heated grips, and Noco jumper cable are things I did to Angry Bird. I like the idea of the cruise control, I wanted one of those, but the rest of the stuff is just over the top fancy for a guy like me. Stuff I would have never bought on my own. Guess I'll find out how the other half lives now lol.

I'm not sure if this is going to change the way I ride or not. It's so clean I might be hesitant to take it out in the rain or snow or on damp roads even. Will I tend to just ride it on perfect Blue bird days. Maybe I'll hang on to Angry Bird for those not so nice days. We'll see.

Hey, it's blue, so "Blue Bird" is the perfect nickname for it.

Say hello to Blue Bird
