To be clear, it was Honda Lover who wrote the detailed description...I just followed his instructions.  And maybe borrowing Suhawk's idea of using POR15 instead of the Rust-Oleum Undercoating is a better idea.  The surface created by 4 coats of the undercoating can be compromised as I found out re-installing the rear fender, some small areas that I had to retouch after getting the fender back on.

But with you living in dryer Utah, perhaps it will never be an issue.  I don't ride in the rain on purpose, but it's almost inevitable to ride wet streets unless one limits riding to July - September...which I don't.

A request: usually I take a photo of the routing of wires before messing with them, but forgot to do this time.  If anyone has a '17ex, would you mind popping off the seat and taking a photo of the wires as they pass from tail light and rear blinkers to the front?  There are certain clips that they pass through but I can't remember if they all pass through.  After reinstalling everything, my left turn signal blinked intermittenly and when I loosened the wires it when away, but I'd like to know how they were routed originally.  Thanks.

It would be my pleasure to take the picture. However, I am traveling through the 4th of July, separated from my motorcycle. I will take the picture on the 5th when I return if you have not received one by then. I also plan to coat my fenders that weekend using POR15. I had planned to create a "How-To" for a 2017 CB1100 start to finish, but I am not sure another that thread is necessary. Please let me know your thoughts.

More to follow on the 5th. Have a great week. David

The most sophisticated, smooth, perfectly engineered motorcycle I've ever owned. A pleasure in every way.
