Fleece tube turtle necks are a godsend. I used a knitted one back in the day that an old girl friend had for cross country skiing and thought it was wonderful but the wind went through it too easily. Fleece jobs are so much nicer.
Unlike back in the 80's, specific gear for biking is so much better than snowmobile gear that I won't go back.
I go with long gauntleted gloves as I have long lanky limbs I like to keep the cool winter breezed out of.
