well, perhaps we should pool our experiences on various western US riding locations and see what we can come up with. There's a KOA campground with a few hotel rooms at Kamiah ID. not far from that is the Lolo Pass. 99 miles of twisties up and over and into Missoula MT. follows the clearwater river. scenic too.
the southern states in the west will be darn hot in the summer time, the northern states in the west often get afternoon mountain showers in the summer. if some of the southern states in the west in the summer I'd suggest the mountainous areas to moderate the temps. I've not ridden yet in Northern Utah but I would think the mountains there would be fun and scenic.
I would assume much of the western part of Colorado would be pretty scenic and mountainous. Yellowstone area of course would be scenic.
part of the challenge I think will be finding a spot that has good scenery, interesting roads, adequate lodging, and is about a day's travel away from where we live for many of us western cb1100 folks.
