Lighter is better until you get a rear tire puncture out on the road lol. I would never even buy a bike that didn't have a centerstand, much less remove one from a bike I owned, but that's a personal thing. I'm sure someone will come along shortly and tell you how to remove it. Many have done so to put on exotic exhausts.
