I've owned a few jackets over the years, but never used em for riding. Leather trench coat, blazer etc. I've always had motorcycle specific gear for riding
The stuff is decent quality, might last a single spill, but I'd worry about the liner. one of the reason I initially wore actual motorcycle gear was that "fashion" based gear has cheaper polyester lining to save on cost.. so if you wind up sliding along the ground (I hope not) if the leather gets worn away from friction, the cheap lining can melt and stick to scrapes etc (ex wife was an ER nurse and saw interesting crap in wounds)..
Id hit up newenough.com (which has a new name like motorcyclegear), motorcycleleatherexchange, or motorcycle-closeouts, and see if you can't get something stylish, but also purpose based.. Over the last 20 years, I've picked up stuff from all 3 at one time or another.. The styles might be a year or two old, but the savings are usually pretty good..
