I think the CB engine is just right

No flaw Paris. A ride shouldn't (in theory) burden you. It works with you to enjoy what it has to offer and enables one to truly enjoy the worldly environment while spending the very little time we are here.

If one wants to standout [and annoy others], then a SuperSport or a [ga da*n] Harley should be considered. Most of us know well that those toys require an attention tax and distracts others who are trying to do the same thing as you: Enjoy our short visit here. The CB helps enable that.

That said, Paris, I wouldn't mind a shhhhhh-aaa-ft on the rear, and heck, a few extra ft-lbs to maybe balance that. In my world, that would add more bliss.

It would be a deep discussion as to why, but we perceive perfection as inhuman, or at best sterile. We love our favorite dogs and motorcycles because of their character, which is how we describe their unique mixture of strengths and weaknesses. What I meant to say was that a motorcycle which is all around good, no matter how good, could be seen as flawed, as in bland or lacking character.

As a rule, Honda motorcycles are either blessed or cursed, depending how you see it, with exquisite engineering for silky, almost liquid smoothness, not only in engine and transmission, but in all functions. Again, this can come across as "lack of character", especially when compared to a different brand, like Kawasaki where the designers usually emphasize brutal, straight line acceleration, or a Suzuki which was built to be revved insanely. Which of us doesn't enjoy a special meal or a different bike once in a while, but a Honda is the type of bike I find easiest to live with, and the brand I keep coming back to.
