Interesting dialogue. To the OP's point, my Schuberth C3-Pro carries ECE and DOT safety ratings but because I purchased it locally in Italy, not from a U.S. retailer, it does not have a DOT sticker and therefore is not compliant on U.S. roads. I could be cited for wearing it!
