It's getting tough for brick and mortar retailers. There used to be a cool store on the north side of Cincinnati called Sport Tour that had a great staff and an excellent collection of hard-to-find items for sport touring. Sadly, they closed. Louisville also had Motorcycle Superstore with an outlet store but they are now closed. Cycle Gear Louisville is probably your best bet.
Iron Pony in Columbus is fantastic. I haven't been there in about four years but I've heard now (as ferret says above) they are a full-fledged multi-brand motorcycle dealer in addition to being a gigantic gear store.
