I know, I know, the later have shaft drives. There are also decent video reviews of the threesome. But does anyone here fantasize these others?
If so, can you share why (or why not)?
Not really. In my eye the truest modern retro bike is the CB1100 EX. I grew up riding Honda CBs, and the 2017 EX best captures that feel and look, even more so than the earlier model CBs (2014). Lots of chrome, metal flake paint job, dual chrome exhaust, but equipped with LED lights, and FI. It is the bike I longed for Honda to make, and though it took them long enough, they got it right.
I love riding it, and everywhere I park it, sure to draw comments. So many are drawn to it, thinking it is a vintage Honda. I've logged 13,000 miles on the bike in 18 months, even though it shares duty with 3 other bikes. It speaks to me in a way my touring bikes can't.
So no, I don't even think about about other retro designs, mostly because they are not a Honda.
