Like a previous poster, I just bought a Shoei GT-Air about 10 days ago. This time around I wanted a slide down internal sun shield in a full face helmet that was not a flip-up modular. I have worn a Shoei RF-1100 for the last several years, but did not go with the newer RF-1200 because I wanted the sun shield. I have a huge head so even the XXL size helmet cheek pads (sz.31--as thin as they come) grip me very snugly, so hopefully they will break in some. The general fit of the helmet is much more close and snug than my RF-1100, but I think there is a move in that direction in some newer top end helmets. I tried a couple of Arai helmets because I had one years ago, and with the current Arai fit I was barely able to get the thing off. The helmet guy at shop told me that is the way they have moved with the fit. I am getting used to the new GT-Air. I removed the pop-in ear pads so my ears are not pressed as tight, and the small increase in noise doesn't matter since I almost always wear ear plugs. For me, it always takes a while to adapt to a new helmet, both because it must break in and also to get used to the new features and the amount of air it flows through the various vents. The internal sun shield is amazing though.
