Then and now. Apache Junction et al.

Apache Junction is still there, but I don't recognize the building. Rather than being a haven for cowboys and gunfighters, or a hard core biker town, it's mostly a retirement community made up mostly of mobile home parks. It's one of those places where the name is much cooler than the actual town.

That's the way of the world, sigh! Maybe one or two of those retirees started out life like this:
