Really fine post ES. I learn something new every time I come to the forum.
In Georgia federal, state and county roads will have as many as three designations. Most all roads in rural areas are named for the nearest city to which they connect and may be designated Main St in town and become Waycross Hwy leaving town which is also US Hwy84. If in Waycross, the same road is called the Blackshear Hwy. It was all very confusing to me when I moved here from Florida 20 years ago.
