It's just not a good idea to rely on an automatic shutoff on a motorcycle. You're only putting in like 3 or 4 gallons, is it that hard to do yourself? And many fuel nozzles do spit back some gas when they shut off. Not that big a deal when the nozzle is in your car or truck, but any splash back on a bike will definitely spill on the nicely painted tank, or your crotch if you're sitting right there. Did the guy really need the two minutes he thought he was saving by not manually fueling up?
