For those with a hankering to travel
#9
Ferret,

The bike rode great and made the beautiful thumping sound associated with RE single-cylinder, and it got 85 mpg. I had it for about two years, and only put 2000 miles on it. Perfect for commuting, and a blast on dirt roads too. There were some issues. However, reading around, I think they may have been unique to my bike. There was a bad gasket where the kickstart entered the engine and it leaked a little oil (the bike has an electric start too). My dealership replaced the gasket three times under warranty. The leak was minuscule, and not even enough that I had to ever add any oil. Also, the glue that held the leather on the motorcycle seat started to come unglued underneath, towards the front (for some reason, they do not staple it on). I could have stretched it back and stapled it in place, but I got a new seat under warranty. Neither of these things affected riding the bike. It felt best at around 65mph. I sold it this morning to an enthusiastic kid.
