It is worth keeping a close look at Quartararo. He has thoroughly impressed me so far. Before the season began I was reading a fair bit about him, but was afraid it was a lot of French hype. Well he has more than lived up to the hype so far! The kid started the season at 15 years, having received a special permission to ride in Moto3 not being 16 yet. Now for the Jerez race he has just turned 16 though. However, the first races have been on tracks that he has never seen before given that his racing so far has been in the Spanish championship. In the three races he has been up front showing an extraordinary maturity in his race craft. That he was fast was not surprising, but to me it is the way he has been a thinking racer who is ot afraid to rough it up a bit in the very competitive Moto3 category.
When Fenati started out he gave me a similar impression, but unfortunately this year he seems to be far from it. Let's hope Quartararo continues to impress. He certainly knows Jerez as a track, the first so far this season, and I would not be surprised if he follows up his pole with a win.
