Well, good points all. I drive my bike every day to work in socal. It's not a long haul but over the years been driving a bike to the same work since 1985 down I-15 south, back then on a seca 400. One day going to work before sunrise I was heading down I-15 south, going under an overpass and a screaming fast bike passed me in my lane, scared the cr@p out of me. Got on base and was pulled over. Turned out that my tail light was out so I guess the other biker didn't see me until right up on me i don't know for sure. BTW I only lane-split going on I-15 south where every morning the traffic is backed up for 1/4 to 1 mile dead stop because of traffic lights, trains and trolleys. I never lane-split on I-15 northbound and pretty much know that every car around me is always a potential problem.
