But I noticed it again today, why do riders always wave low, like below the waist, point down towards the ground? It takes longer to take your hand from the handle bars to below you waist than to just pop it up like saying hi. Usually it's a two finger wave. Just curious.

I have seen this also and reckon they're just trying to look cool whilst waving
