When we were kids, we had to get out of our houses to meet people and see the world. Many of us lived in isolated suburban areas where you couldn't walk or ride a bicycle...it was too far or the roads too busy. You had to have a car to set you free.
Today's kids don't feel compelled to leave home. If they leave home, they lose broadband wi-fi. Why leave home and go out into the world, when the time spent getting there means you'll be disconnected and unable to use your device? You can travel the world virtually on the internet, watch amazing and entertaining videos, and stay in contact with your friends via social media.
Cars? Motorcycles? Who cares?
