I'm sorry, but if I can't see myself riding a bike across the Rockies to the Pacific, it is not a motorcycle, it is an ornament... I rode a 1983 Honda XL600 from Ketchikan, Alaska, through most of British Columbia to Vancouver. That was 1600 km or about 1,000 miles. I kept going and finally ended up not far from the Mexican border. That was the only bike I owned at the time, so it was a touring bike. It rained almost the whole time until I got south of Portland, Oregon.
I am pretty sure that the MV Agusta, or my Z900 (which is equally lovely) would serve much better as a touring bike than a single which only had a kick starter, and was dang cantankerous to start.
