I had a law enforcement career from 1982 to 2011. In my pre employment polygraph and subsequent interviews, I told the truth, that I had socially used Marijuana when I was in College, ( 1970-1974). When I got to the final interview with the Chief, he asked me if I was worried about being disqualified for hire because of it, and I said I was worried. He started laughing, and I asked him what was funny. He looked me in the eye and said " we just got out of the 70s, do you have any idea how hard it is to find anyone that has never done it?". He went on to say it was more important to him that I was honest about it, and asked if he hired me, would I ever do it again. I said no, and haven't touched it to this day.
That said, I am currently healthy, retired, and no longer bound by oath. Legal or not, at this point in my life, if I was in pain and thought that using a medical Marijuana product might relieve that pain and give me better quality of life I would not hesitate to give it a try. I have had several friends that have gone through chemo discomfort, cancer pain, and various other significant quality of life reducing ailments, that experienced good to unbelievably positive results from using non THC medical versions of Cannabis.
