Bike theft

On the other hand, a UJM inline-4 600 cc supersport thang in a locked garage is lifted into a truck while the owner eats dinner inside the house.

There’s a hugely entertaining YouTube video on a series of motorcycle thefts which I am not able to link on the tablet I am using at the moment. Some poor fellow in London has a very nice sport bike which he is forced to leave outside. Anticipating that it might be stolen, he installs a GPS tracking device on the bike. Soon enough, it is stolen and the device leads the police to the bike and it’s recovered.

Next, the owner buys this formidable chain, and locks the bike to a street lamp. Somehow, a thief cuts the chain and steals the bike again. By now, the police aren’t going to look for it a second time, so the owner enlists the GPS tracking company to help him. With some difficulty, the company locates the bike, and the owner gets it back. Soon after, a replacement chain that could have come off a ship’s anchor is cut and the bike is stolen once more.

By this point the battery in the GPS tracker has nearly worn out, and the signal is very weak. Standing behind his product, the owner of the GPS tracker company undertakes the search personally, and locates the bike in line at a backyard chop shop. For a third time, the owner gets his bike back. Now resigned to repeating this cycle endlessly, the only thing he can think to do to help himself is to get a new battery for the tracker.
