What was your first bike?

First bike I ever rode was my cousin's Honda 50 while on vacation to WV in the summertime. I was too young to even know what it was- were they called XR back then?

Although certainly a tiny toy if I stood over it today- boy I can still remember the smell and sound of 'motorcycle'. Twisting the throttle and hearing the little engine, the excitement as all of us kids stood in a big field and waited our turn. Fireflies all around us. That's all it took for a life long obsession with engines and mechanical.

My first bike was a 1978 Yamaha GT80- silver and blue just like this-






I still have the speedo off of it sitting in my garage, as well as the speedo from my first car.
