When I sell anything on Craigslist, I have them meet at the local Starbucks, even listing the address in the ad so they can check it out beforehand. Sold some bicycles lately, and as it happened, all three buyers were women who appreciated meeting at a neutral safe place. Same with the last motorcycle I sold.
