The time has come for me to sell, seeking advice.
#3
In the late 80s my wife was no longer interested in motorcycling and I was riding our Aspencade (Goldwing) less and less. Keeping the Wing was expensive because of the depreciation and insurance. As it was still in perfect condition I got a good price for it and the new owner was quite pleased.

After 23 years of motorcycling I thought I would miss the bike. But as I was busy with baseball in the summer and hockey in the winter, I really didn't think of it much.

A few years later an uncle sold me this 9 year old Rabbit convertible.

It was in great condition because it was never driven in the winter. I enjoyed driving it for 13 summers. When it began having mechanical problems I sold it.

In the fall of 2012 an friend talked me into going to an antique motorcycle show. The bike buzz came back. I was no longer playing hockey or baseball and did not have a second vehicle, so the next spring I bought a CB500XA for my 68th birthday. I thoroughly enjoyed riding it for 3 summers, and traded it in this year on my new CB1100 EX.

Fortunately I still enjoy could good health, probably because I played organized sports until I was 56. If my health fails or I get bored with biking however, I would not hesitate to sell the bike and buy another convertible. Might even convince Penny to take a few rides in it.
