Thanks! Yes it's pretty new. The wet weather and finding reliable contractors were the biggest challenges to completing it. I started planning in 2016, did site prep in 2017, building went up in late 2017, but I had to wait a while for the concrete floor and the garage doors to be installed. Then I waited almost another year for the driveway to be converted from a muddy strip covered with 2"-3" gravel to asphalt. 2019 has been the first real season of full use. I've actually got a crew here this week doing the finish grading along the new driveway and around the building. I've been fighting an infestation of [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reynoutria_japonica]Asian knotweed in the meantime that had to be eradicated before I could allow any more soil to be moved around.

Looks great! If you’re into whiteboards like I am (convenient place to jot down vehicle tire pressure specs, oil types/quantity and makes a nice place to doodle); go to your nearest window installation business, and ask what they do with the sliders they replace. In my case; “how many do you want”. Drill holes for mounting, paint the back with white paint, and get some whiteboard markers. Cleans easily.

Very nice, Stich. I have a 1 car garage which holds a car and two motorbikes (along with a bunch of other stuff). I've tried to set it up to be a hangout space, but since it's connected to the family room, I need to add a fan to blow cigar smoke out the front door so it doesn't infiltrate the rest of the house. It's a work in progress, but I'll post a pic one of these days. I wish I had the space to spread out like you do.

Ha ha! Well, nobody would want to hang out in my old garage. It was dark and despite my best efforts was always dirty. Finally built this bright space. Much better place to be when working on or talking about motorcycles!

Would love to gawk and discuss m/c's in your garage with a cold one in hand and a thunderstorm outside.

Very nice space! I'm incredibly jealous.

My motorcycle hangout space is three feet wide and five feet long. Basically the space between a support beam and the wall, and the distance from that beam to my tool chest. Between them, there are two shelves. One holds a row of four helmets, the other holds my Givi trunk, gloves, two bundled dust covers, and my air gauge.

Above the shelves is a metal sign a friend gave me that says "Still plays with motorcycles". Since the word motorcycles is plural, I use that as the excuse that I always need to own more than one motorcycle.

Tucked under this space is my Bonneville, wedged as closely as possible to the wall to keep me and my wife from bumping the left rear turn signal as we walk past to get to the passenger door of her car.

The CB is on the other side of the garage, parked between my rear bumper and the garage door.

I'd love to hang out there, but it's hot, and if I leave the garage door open to make it more inviting, the meth dealers who live directly across the street from me, and their customers, start peering in, I imagine to see what the most valuable objects they would quickly be able to remove from my garage.

Respect! I've seen some pics of guys' garages in Europe. People are incredibly clever with tricks to max out the space.

Stitchell, please tell us that that photo was taken right after you cleaned your garage, and that you are a normal person like the rest of us, and it's not always that clean and neat. Please.

(And believe me, Ferret, everyone on the block is now on a first-name basis with the local constabulary regarding our neighbor)

I'm pretty obsessive about maintaining order in the new building. I think I was traumatized by the chaos of the old garage, so I'm excessively determined to defend this new space and not allow any rampant disorder.

This is my old motorcycle space looking as clean and orderly as it ever did. In the summer, I kept one car outside and used the right side for the bikes. But in winter, the bikes had to be perpendicular-parked between the work bench and the front of the cars, constantly in danger of being bumped into. Untenable, hence the new building.
