Yeah...I'm all in on the "keep calm and stay alive" approach to riding. About 20 years ago, I was riding with a buddy in the left lane when a soccer mom on her cell phone in the center lane swerved her Suburban into our lane. I braked and safely switched lanes behind her. My buddy accelerated, then planted his size 13 steel shank logger boot into the sheet metal of her door. It startled her so badly that she immediately braked and swerved hard right, almost taking me out, along with another car clear over in the right lane. A few minutes later, after we stopped, I listened to my buddy go on and on about a fornicating female dog. I remembered seeing two blond-headed kids in carseats in that Suburban. His aggressive response could have made it so much worse.
