Weight Lifting for Riding Fitness

My wife is a geriatric nurse practitioner, and keeps telling me "I deal with people in their 70s who didn't take care of themselves. I don't want us to be like that!" Since I work in outdoor events that usually involve a ton of physical labor, pushing, pulling and dragging things, I normally get a lot of exercise. The gang of us who do this work are the "I ain't got time to bleed" type. But this year, with a furlough, being down with COVID for a month, and fewer events, I can feel myself getting pretty squishy.

This Saturday is the "L.A. Great Walk", which is a 16-20 mile hike across downtown L.A. Normally it's no sweat, but I'll bet I'll be sweatin' a lot this year. But, I'm gonna do it, and hope that it kicks my butt into doing more exercise, since my next events aren't until February, unless the world blows up before then.

Post-apocalyptical provides almost assured opportunity to lose weight (sans the pine box), and maybe get more fit.

Of course the downside is the decreasing supply of good gasoline for the CB1100.
