Paul, I did a similar trip when I bought the ST1300.
IMHO your biggest problem may be your butt. Seriously. In my case 5 hours in and I had to get off the bike. But I had an AirHawk with me and installed it. Next day did 600 miles with no problem. Then a few days visiting friends and 500 more miles home. Butt was fine
Not saying get an AirHawk, but maybe be prepared to get something to pad the seat. I'm saying this as by far the biggest complaint on our bikes is the seat. As always, YMMV.
And maybe consider getting a CrampBuster or Go Cruise to help with your wrist.
