If HD is successful partnering with Tesla and leveraging their "coast-to-coast" charging infrastructure, that is a plus for HD. In addition, charging wait time will be significantly shorter for the m/c vs. say a Tesla simply because of the smaller battery capacity.
If companies like HD can engineer their models to access the batteries easily, then battery swapping would indeed be more practical - especially compared to a car.

Even that said today, I still wouldn't want to get stranded off the beaten path (e.g. Interstate highways) because charge ran out. Off the beaten path is why most m/c enthusiasts ride.
