It is well-known for decades that limiting (or even better: halting) the meat industry would HUGELY limit greenhouse gas production. Even better: making everybody vegetarian would free 75% of our farmland (see e.g. [url=https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2022/01/28/if-everyone-were-vegan-only-a-quarter-of-current-farmland-would-be-needed]this article).
Of course all this will never happen. Problem is that the farmer's lobby is very (!) strong. And most people (myself included) like to eat meat & eggs and to drink milk. So that is a no-win option for politicians.
ICE-driven vehicles on the other hand can be replaced by vehicles propelled by electrical engines, and most people (myself included) like that idea so many politicians have jumped on it to show that they are doing something at least. But they will not make this planet much greener this way.
