When I worked at Petersen Publishing in the 90s, it was two hours each way in the car or two hours each way on train/subway/bus. I wasn't riding back then.
The museum is two blocks from where the publishing building was. Happy to make the commute twice a month on Saturdays, and it's 50 minutes by motorcycle.
One thing that is a plus with the new gig is that it's closer to Mom's than where I am now, and our five-year plan is to move in with her as she needs more care and rent our current condo.
Thanks, Ferret. It will be weird at first, I'm sure. Mrs. G transitioned to telemedicine from home during the pandemic and did great with it. We still have her desk and I can use the spare bedroom as an office.
It will seem weird not to ride every day, but I have to remind myself that I'll be riding the same time and distance, even if it's compressed into one day a week.
