I do the same. I have a Shoei Neotec 2 and I put a line of electrical tape on the bottom edge of the inner retractable sun visor. Then all I need to do is lower the visor just a touch when the sun is low. It works better than just fully putting the sun visor down since it blocks all light when looking into the sun low on the horizon rather than just filtering it a bit. Kind of like flipping a cars visor down is more effective than wearing sunglasses when you are driving into the sun.
