Do you ride with salt on the road?
#21
I did some in my first few years of riding but I find the ride reward vs risk/work isn't worth it. With salt and sand and lower visibility the ride is riskier. The increased corrosion is also not worth it. Just to have a chilly ride on some roads where you can still encounter ice, snow, salt, sand, and collected debris especially in corners is not worth it to me. I did ride right up until the first salting this year and since the cold snap happened so fast I didn't get a chance to clean the bike. We had a nice 11 deg C day a few weeks ago so I went in the garage and grabbed some stripper juice and got all the dirt off it. If I rode it I would have ridden until it was too cold to clean it and the salt would be corroding it right now...
