Thanks for sharing this Stichill. In my opinion, one thing they missed out on when it comes to identifying a cult motorcycle is real staying power amongst a passionate fan (owners) base. If the CB1100 forum is still around and active without shrinking in terms of activity come 2023 then perhaps one could make an argument for it as a cult motorcycle. Even then it might be questionable. A decade of such fan base activity would seem to be the minimum to me. I say this because in the case of the CB1100 and others that are under consideration for cult status, without that kind of track record amongst the fans/owners, you are simply looking at motorcycles that not only didn't sell all that many units to begin with, but that also proved to be a flash-in-the-pan in terms of the interest they generated later on. None of this has anything to do with how good or bad the motorcycles they discussed actually are in real life use.
