The cops had been looking for a white '68 442 ragtop that was reported stolen. Yep, it was my buddy's car. They confiscated it for return to the original owner. I honestly don't remember what happened to my friend in terms of getting the money back from the seller, but somehow I seem to recall that he did.
It's a little shocking to see the rust inside the hood. No matter how well the car was cared for, in time it would still be consumed by oxidation.
It was raining the night of the accident and that metal was exposed to it. That's why it rusted. This was taken about a week after the accident if I recall correctly.
